Issue Position: Tolls

Issues: Transportation

The push to install tolls on Connecticut highways is one residents can't afford. It already costs too much to live here thanks in part to two massive tax hikes imposed during the Malloy administration, and proposing tolls at the same time as many other insidious tax increases is simply wrongheaded. Instead, the legislature should reignite the Transportation Strategy Board to develop an actual transportation plan (toll proponents don't have one) and prioritize transportation in plans for state bonding--the standard way to pay for large-scale projects without squeezing family budgets. Simply put: Less pork, more road and bridge repair.
